We had a chance to ask Emina Hecimovic about relationships and here’s what she had to say:

Can you name three qualities which you find to be the most attractive in men?

Confidence, independence and a sense of humor.

Do you think chivalry is dead? And if so, would you like to see it make a comeback?

Chivalrous behavior is no longer the norm because it is not required. The days are gone when women expected men to open, hold and close doors for them. Many would rather do it themselves to demonstrate their independence. Others don’t know where to set their expectations; consequently, not setting any at all. Men adhere to what is demanded of them, and unfortunately chivalry is not the demand anymore.

What do you think are the strongest characteristics of a healthy relationship? 

Communication and friendship are absolutely the most important characteristics of a healthy relationship. Being able to express your feelings and opinions and knowing that it’s okay to disagree is huge. As obvious as communication is, I think there are many couples that are not good at it. People that are able to openly express their feelings in a safe environment deal with situations as they come up and avoid burying frustrations which always have a way of coming out at some point. It’s also important to not only love each other, but genuinely like each other as people, and enjoy hanging out together and even consider each other as a best friend. Last, but not least, respect. Find ways to appreciate them for who they are and accept them for who they are without feeling like you need to change them
